Calvert K-9 Search Team is an all volunteer, not-for-profit organization. We provide fully equipped, highly trained and nationally certified search dog teams, search personnel and search management personnel utilizing the latest technology aids to find lost or missing people. We respond to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police and Maryland Law Enforcement Agencies for use in Southern

Maryland counties. Calvert K-9 Search Team trains year round and in all weather to maintain and enhance our professional-level search and rescue services; additionally we provide safety education to the local community, including the nationally recognized Hug-a-Tree program.

Join us in wishing K-9 Sundance a very happy birthday! 🎉
Sundance is one of our operational tracking and trailing dogs. He and his handler Fran Carson use an article belonging to the missing person to follow the path they took. They routinely train on very complicated and aged tracks!
Fun fact: Sundance loves SAR so much that he tries to be the first one out the door!

Happy Birthday to CK-9’s August birthdays! Check out those baby pictures 👀💕

K-9 Gabe is certified in Wilderness Area Search (Live Find) and his handler is Kortni Kane.
Gabe’s favorite thing ever is playing frisbee… and it looks like he loves the mud too 😆 Gabe is known for giving his favorite people hugs!

K-9 Echo is certified in Wilderness Area Search (Live Find) and her handler is Brittany Duvall.
Echo’s favorite thing is anything involving water (the beach is a big favorite!) or her purple ring toy. She will happily play with you at any of our events!

K-9 Freya is training in Wilderness Area Search (Live Find) and her handler is Keith Kane.
Don’t let the fact that she is a Cane Corso fool you: she is the sweetest dog. In fact, her favorite thing ever is playing with other dogs!

CK-9 had their quarterly night training last night at our team headquarters!

Due to the forecasted thunderstorms, the team conducted indoor member training. This included Brian issuing everyone new radios and helping to set them up. Ted than did a refresher lecture on air scent theory and our night vision and thermal binoculars. The whole team then got a chance to practice using them while looking for Fran and Mera!

Yesterday was a gorgeous day for our Spring BBQ! We enjoy sharing our appreciation for each other and the family members that support us in all we do. Great food, fantastic friends, and friendly competition in the form of yard games. Thank you everyone for making the day a success!

Another great training day today. The team members who participated in a successful missing persons search last year were given folders from Prince George’s County Police Department containing a Memorandum detailing the incident.

We had a couple of members from NRP flanking teams Echo and Gabe today to see more about how the dogs operate, it was really great to meet you!

Also sharing a couple of pictures from the Chiefs’ Award Ceremony a couple of our members attended Wednesday.
