Welcome to the Wreaths Across America Page for Southern Memorial Gardens. All are welcome to attend the event each December to honor our local veterans.

01/09/2026

* Wreath Removal Reminder – January 10th at 9:00 AM *

Wreath removal at Southern Memorial Gardens will take place Saturday, January 10th at 9:00 AM, and we invite the community to join us as we remove just under 400 wreaths.

🌧️ Rain is expected, so please dress accordingly.

🧹 Bring a shovel, broom, or other long-handled tool to help with cleanup.

🐐 Goat farmers — please stop by and take as many wreaths as you’d like!

🚗 Parking reminder: Please park in the cemetery parking lot only, not throughout the cemetery.

The December 1st deadline to sponsor a wreath is almost here!

Troop 903 is so close to reaching our goal of fully covering Southern Memorial Gardens. Every additional wreath sponsored beyond our goal will be placed at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, ensuring even more heroes are honored this season. ❤️🤍💙

We’re in crunch time for Wreaths Across America at Southern Memorial Gardens — and we still need just over 100 wreaths to fully cover every veteran’s grave! 🇺🇸

📖✝️ Today, we honor the U.S. Army Chaplain Corps — providing spiritual support, comfort, and courage to soldiers since 1775.

For nearly 250 years, Army chaplains have served on the front lines and beyond, offering hope in the darkest hours and reminding our heroes they are never alone.

Let us remember every role, every rank, and every act of service — including those who ministered in silence and strength.

🇺🇸 Today, we honor the legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers — the African American troops who served with courage, dignity, and distinction after the Civil War.

Formed in 1866, these soldiers were among the first Black regiments in the U.S. Army, serving on the Western frontier and beyond. Despite facing discrimination, they earned a lasting place in American history through bravery and dedication.

Remember all who served — and ensure their stories are never forgotten.

🕊️ Today, we remember the signing of the Korean War Armistice on July 27, 1953.

We honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who fought in the Korean War — the “Forgotten War” that must never be forgotten.
