Winning a contract is one milestone. Building a business equipped to deliver is what sustains growth. During today’s GCF Small Business Impact Institute session, our cohort explored what it takes to compete for corporate and government opportunities.

Makeda Matthews of Delta Air Lines shared insight into Delta’s supply-chain channels and the rules of engagement for becoming procurement-ready. Torris Lloyd of Kaiser Permanente outlined procurement opportunities in Georgia and emphasized the relationship-building required to earn the attention and trust of procurement professionals.

Adding to these corporate insights, Georgia Tech APEX Accelerator professionals Nancy Cleveland, Chioma Anosike and Mijeong Chang broke down the distinct requirements businesses must navigate when pursuing government contracts.

Inside week 5 of GCF Small Business Impact Institute Cohort 2: Developing Capital Readiness, business owners learned that accessing capital is only part of the equation. The real strategy is finding the right capital, for the right purpose, at the right time.

Led by Jon Roman of Transworld Business Advisors, with Earl Camp of NOW Corporation, Vickie Evans of CORG Management Group, and Maria Peck of Momentus Capital, participants explored capital options, financing strategies, and why funding should always match the business need.
