Dothan Alumni Cohort A group of Dothan-area alumni using experience & expertise to fill in the gaps on current initiatives

Bringing the best and brightest ideas back to Dothan
The cohort is comprised of talented and resourceful alumni from Dothan area high schools. This group will collectively form a team of problem-solvers to help fill in the gaps on issues affecting our community.

A week later and we’re still talking about DAC Weekend. 💚

Three days of exploring Dothan, learning from local leaders, working together, and spending time with people who care about this community.

A lot of new connections were made along the way, and some of those already look like they’ll last well beyond the weekend.

We’re also excited to share more soon about the ideas our group developed for Downtown Dothan. There was a lot of good work packed into those few days, and we’re looking forward to showing you what came out of it!

This year marked three years of DAC, and Season 8 was a pretty great way to celebrate it. Let’s do it again in March? 👀

Day Three Recap ✅

Day three brought us to the beautiful Wiregrass Innovation Center, where our groups presented their ideas for Downtown Dothan and shared some of the incredible work that came out of the weekend.

We also had the chance to hear from HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology Wiregrass Director Dean Mitchell and learn more about the Innovation Center before ending with a tour of the space.

And maybe one of our favorite parts? A whole lot of phone numbers were exchanged, new connections were made, and plans for the next get-together are already in the works. 🥹

Such a good final day with this crew, and we have a feeling these connections are only getting started. 💚

Day Two Recap 🔄

Saturday had a packed itinerary, and we made every minute count!

We kicked things off hearing from Downtown Dothan and then got to work dreaming up ideas for how we can continue making our downtown even better. From there, we explored Foster Street, grabbed lunch at KBC , learned American Mahjong with Circle City Mahj , and wrapped up the day with a social inside Downtown Books + Foster St Antiques !

A full day of learning, connecting, exploring, and a whole lot of fun. 💚 And the best part? Our groups came up with some pretty amazing ideas for Downtown Dothan that we can’t wait to share soon! 👀

ONE MORE SLEEP! 💚

Tomorrow night, DAC Weekend officially begins, and we can’t wait to see what this group will experience, accomplish, and bring to our community over the next few days.

As we celebrate three years of DAC, we’re especially excited for the work we get to do together, the connections that will be made, and the impact this weekend will have long after it’s over.

THREE DAYS until DAC Weekend! 💚

Part of what makes so special is giving our attendees the chance to experience Dothan in a new way, while also supporting the local businesses and spaces that help make our downtown and community what they are.

Just a few of the stops on the Season 8 agenda: KBC, Downtown Books, Foster Street Antiques, Circle City Mahj, and the Wiregrass Innovation Center! 👀
