Paisyn has been working hard to help support the CAC. There isn’t anything much sweeter than seeing children helping children. She has been collecting snacks and stuffed animals to offer as “Courage Cuddles” for the kids that come through the CAC’s doors. Thank you, Paisyn for having such a kind heart and mission.

Thank you Houston County DHR for allowing Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center to participate in your Trunk and Treat for the precious children Monday night. We had the best time and the kids loved our Cookie Monster and goodies.

We’ve introduced you to Callie, now meet Tatum!

A Dothan native, Tatum brings a strong passion for child advocacy and supporting victims. She holds bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama and has experience with a White House internship and the Florida Department of Children and Families.

After discovering her passion for Child Advocacy Centers and forensic interviewing, Tatum is excited to return home and pursue her dream career serving the community she loves.

Tatum is a perfect fit to the MDT team and we have enjoyed seeing her flourish the past two weeks serving our victims and their families with care and compassion. 💙

On Thursday, Lindsey, our Director of Community Relations, and Callie, our Education Advocate, attended the October meeting of the local chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

The chapter’s president, Barbara Peters, graciously invited us to share more about the CAC, the services we provide, and the ways we support children and families in our community. We were delighted to have the opportunity! 💙

We are also incredibly grateful for their generous donation of snacks and books for the children we serve. Thank you for thinking of our children and supporting our mission!

Last week we were blessed to welcome two new members to our team. 💙

First up, meet Callie Humphrey, our Education Advocate.
Callie is a proud Dothan native who recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice from Troy University.
For the past three years she worked
with the Houston County District Attorney’s Office, where she had the opportunity to work alongside the CAC. Callie says that seeing firsthand the meaningful impact the CAC has on children and families helped shape her desire to continue serving others in a role centered around compassion, advocacy, and support.

We are so grateful to have Callie join us and excited to see her flourish as she educates our local children and community on child abuse prevention/Erin’s Law and mental health care.
