The Maine Cheese Guild proudly announced its 2026 Maine Cheese Awards Winners during the 10th annual Maine Cheese Festival in Pittsfield this past Sunday. Facilitated by the Guild’s partners at the Maine Tasting Center, the awards celebrate the creativity and quality of Maine’s cheesemakers, bringing together some of the state’s finest cheeses for a blind, expert-led evaluation.
More than 100 cheeses were submitted for this year’s competition, representing cheesemakers from across Maine and competing in 10 categories. A diverse panel of chefs, cheesemongers, retailers, media representatives, and other Maine cheese experts judged entries on presentation, texture, flavor, and overall experience. In addition to category honors, one standout cheese was selected to receive the competition’s coveted Best in Show title. Read our press release here: https://tinyurl.com/2s3ncytw
