You can say you believe in Jesus, attend church every Sunday, know Scripture, and still be missing something incredibly important.
Is your faith actually changing the way you live?
On Sunday, Pastor Jay challenged us with a powerful message from James 2 that reminds us that genuine faith produces action.
It's easy to become comfortable in our routines. We show up for church, listen to the message, worship, and then head back into another busy week. But what happens when God asks us to do something that interrupts our plans or stretches us beyond what's comfortable?
James 2:17 reminds us that faith without good deeds is dead.
That doesn't mean we earn our salvation through good works. Jesus has already done what we could never do for ourselves. But when we truly surrender our lives to Him, that relationship should change how we respond to the people around us.
Maybe that means walking across the street to meet a neighbor you've never spoken to. Maybe it's taking time to help someone when your schedule is already full. Or maybe it's finally stepping into that ministry opportunity God has been placing on your heart.
What good is it to say we love our neighbors if we're never willing to make time for them?
God hasn't called us to a comfortable faith that stays inside the walls of the church. He's called us to a living faith that reaches people right where they are.
This week, ask yourself: Where is God asking me to move, and have I been too comfortable to take that step?
If you missed Sunday's message, A Faith That Works, we encourage you to watch it and spend some time in James 2:14–26. There's a lot here for all of us to take to heart.
