On Saturday, our 4-H Fishing Club gathered at Camp Pinehill for a very special day as we celebrated the life and memory of Mr. David Johnson, who passed away earlier this year. Mr. David was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who had a true love for the outdoors.
Mr. David enjoyed spending time in nature, and we know he would have loved seeing our 4-H youth gathered around the pond—fishing, learning, and making memories with their friends and families. 🎣💚
Generous donations made to the David Johnson 4-H Memorial Fund have helped support our Fishing Club this year and provide opportunities for local youth to experience and appreciate the outdoors. We are incredibly grateful to the Johnson family for allowing Mr. David’s memory and love of the outdoors to live on by helping us inspire that same love in the next generation of 4-H members.
The Johnson family also treated our members to a variety of yummy snacks and drinks, which was such a thoughtful addition to our special evening! We truly appreciate their generosity and hospitality.
A special thank you to Camp Pinehill for welcoming our club and allowing us to enjoy their beautiful pond. We also appreciate Michael Sapp for taking the time to talk with our members about camp opportunities.
Finally, a huge thank you to our wonderful 4-H parent volunteers who helped our members with rods and bait, shared fishing tips and tricks, and encouraged our young anglers throughout the evening. We are so fortunate to have caring parents and volunteers who are always willing to lend a hand and help make experiences like this possible.
It was a beautiful evening of fishing, fellowship, and remembering Mr. David—and a wonderful reminder of how one person’s legacy can continue making a difference for generations to come.
