What an incredible way to wrap up the school year! This afternoon, the Devine Education Foundation had the absolute honor of presenting our final round of teacher and staff grants for this school year.

Because of your incredible support, look at what we accomplished together this year:

🌱 Spring Grants: $34,050
💰 Total This Year: $54,621

Since 2021, our generous community and donors have helped us invest a grand total of $250,186.04 directly into Devine ISD classrooms!

Today we once again honored the legacy of Bettye Geurin-Burns and Helen Donegan by gifting a new book to every student from third to fifth grade. These ladies believed in the magic of stories, and there was no better way to celebrate them than by sharing that magic with others. May these books spark as much joy in these kids as you did! ❤️

Celebrating Excellence at Seco Creek! 🎓✨

Yesterday, the Devine Education Foundation had the incredible honor of celebrating our Top 10 Percent students. To the students and families who joined us: thank you for making this day so special. We hope these memories stay with you as you head toward your bright futures!

On behalf of the Devine Education Foundation, we were honored to present John J. Ciavarra Elementary School with copies of The Giving Tree and Ordinary Mary's Extraordinary Deed.

These books were given in loving memory of Bettye Geurin-Burns - CEO of the Donegan-Burns Foundation and Helen Donegan - Founder. They shared a profound passion for literacy and a lifelong commitment to the spirit of giving.

By sharing these stories, we hope to honor their legacy and help instill a generous heart in your students. Our wish is that these books inspire children to discover the joy of reading and the power of sharing that love with others.

A HUGE thank you to author and 2002 Devine High School graduate Heather Van De Walle for visiting our second graders at Ciavarra Elementary today! 📚✨ She shared her passion for reading and writing, and gifted books to our students along with the foundation. The kids loved meeting the author of The Adventures of Frankie the Yoga Doxie and it was an inspiring “full circle” moment for Mrs. Van De Walle. 🐾📖

In memory of Bettye Geurin-Burns, we spent the day sharing her love for reading by giving a new book to every child in Pre K-3 through 2nd Grade. 📚✨

Bettye believed that a good story could open up the world, and there’s no better way to celebrate her legacy than by putting those worlds into the hands of the next generation. Seeing their faces light up was the perfect tribute to a woman who gave so much to our community.

We hope these stories spark as much joy and curiosity in these kids as Bettye did in all of us. ❤️
