Love Mercy Charitable Fund would like to give a huge shout out to Brent Heilig for his suggestion of our event name. He and Jean were present during the planning stages of this event. Heather and I (Misty) were throwing ideas out to one another and as he walked by he casually said "Cookin' For a Claus" because, you know, Chritmas, crawfish, and Santa Claus. We looked at one another and simultaneously said "GENIUS"! And here were are.
So thank you, Brent! As if Heather and I weren't genius enough, we get to hang out with other geniuses. 🤣

Just when you thought we were done....TA-DAAAA!!

A very good friend and BBQ Promoter reached out and offered a free entry to his cook off coming up in May. Some of you may be familiar. It's a little ole charcoal burner called Lots, Stock, and Barrows which will be held this year in Hondo, TX. Yep, a FREE ENTRY!! Thank you so much to Jeremy Johonnett for this amazing offer.
We added all 26 teams in attendance at Cookin For A Claus this past weekend. We've spun the wheel and we'll let you all see the winner for yourself.
*The first team that won the spin this morning was Gettin’ Sauced & Smoked. They have generously donated the entry to be put back into the drawing.

WOW!!
We've had a couple of days now to just take it all in. We are overwhelmed by the amount of love our organization was shown this last weekend by your attendance, sponsorships, donations, volunteering, etc... There are no adequate words to describe how thankful and blessed we are!
We had 26 of some of the best teams in the BBQ biz join us for our inaugural event! You guys (gals) showed up and Showed off and we loved every minute of it!!Twisted D described it as a dog fight, and a fight it was! You didnt let a little rain in the forecast scare you away and some of you may have even danced around in it!
We added a twist to our Chef's Choice category and there wasn't a disappointing dish in the bunch. The Cajun dishes you all turned in were spectacular! The judging room stayed pretty packed, thanks to our taste judge coordinator. That's an important role because if the judges are seated, the food gets judged while it's still hot. Great job! And to our Head judge, Brenda, you're always amazing. From the smooth ran judging room to the fantastic awards, we thank you!
Thank you to all of the vendors that showed up and to those that donated items to our drawing. To everyone else in and around our community that donated the fabulous items, we had much success in that area because of all of you! Thank you!
The crawfish sale was a huge success!! We had some of the best cookers on hand, the servers and volunteers were amazing! You guys never seemed to slow down and that kept our line moving quickly, you all ROCK!
A GIGANTIC thank you goes to Corey Trammell and Reena Murphy for donating The Farm at Black Creek, their amazing venue! Absolutely none of this would have been as amazing without their generous donation. The place is just spectacular! (It's also for rent for events 😉)
There's always someone left off of the thank yous, but please know, every single one of you made this event a success! We appreciate everything and everyone coming together in such a short time (2.5 months). Imagine now what we can accomplish in a whole year!

Well, if you missed the party 🍻 and 🎶 last night, you won't want to miss the festivities today!! We have a vendor market starting at 9am, a crawfish boil 🦞 at noon til sold out today, and DJ Rockin’ Reece and live music all day until midnight! You don't want to miss this one!!
