Our event brings together family and friends and the money we raise is used to assist young people in improving and furthuring their education and helping our community

Whew!! What a great bunch of cooks we had at the cookoff part of Bust N Burn this weekend. We had 36 teams compete for buckles, cash, buckle koozies, and banners. Thank you all for showing up and showing off your BBQ skills.

Congratulations to GC, Carl Davis of Cast Iron Coookers, and RGC Bobby Boom of Suavecito BBQ.
First place Future of BBQ went to Kallen DuBose.

Thank you to Brenda Waters, Margaret Summers, and Shelby Haass for running a smooth judging room.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year!!

This weekend is Bust N Burn! We are doing something a little different this year. Be sure to read the rules below for the jackpots.

Friday

6:00 Cooks Meeting

6:50 - 7:00 Steak - Enough for 6 judges. Cooker provides their own steak. No garnish. Must be turned in in the tray provided by CBA.

7:50 - 8:00 Cooks Choice - Enough for 6 judges. Anything goes except *NO STEAK AND NO DESSERT* Those 2 have their own category. Must be turned in in the tray provided by CBA.

8:50 - 9:00 Dessert- Enough for 6 judges. Can be turned in in the tray provided by CBA OR COOKERS ARE ALLOWED TO TURN-IN IN THEIR OWN CONTAINER OR DISPLAY. Be creative and have fun with the dessert category!

Saturday

10:50 - 11:00 Beans - Enough for 6 judges. Must start with dry pinto beans. Anything goes. Must be turned in in the Styrofoam cup provided by CBA. ANYTHING GOES!

11:50 - 12:00 - Chicken - Enough for 6 judges. No pulled or shredded. No garnish allowed. Foil provided by CBA must be placed unfolded in the bottom of the tray.

12:50 pm - 1:00 pm - Ribs - Enough for 6 judges. Pork spare ribs, St Louis cut and baby back ribs are allowed. No garnish allowed. Foil provided by CBA must be placed unfolded in the bottom of the tray.

1:50 pm - 2:00 pm Pork - Enough for 6 judges. Any cut or combination of cuts are allowed. No garnish allowed. Foil provided by CBA must be placed unfolded in the bottom of the tray.

2:50 - 3:00 - Brisket- Enough for 6 judges. Slices and/or Burnt Ends are allowed. No garnish. Foil provided by CBA must be placed unfolded flat in the bottom of the tray.

3:50 - 4:00 Future of BBQ - Enogh for 6 judges. Must cook pork steak provided by the Promoter. NO garnish.

4:20 - 4:30 Margaritas - Enough for 6 judges. May turn in in your own container or display. BE CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN WITH THE MARGARITA CATEGORY.

Hey Bust N Burners!!

Volunteers needed and will be paid in raffle tickets. 🤩

•Taste judges= 1 ticket per category judged. Please show up 15 minutes prior to each category you'd like to judge. Pre sign ups are not necessary. Contact Misty @ 830-200-1015 with any questions.

•Gate workers= 5 tickets per every 2 hour shift. Please contact Sandra @ 830-364-9913 to get your spot.

Heeey Bust N Burners!!

We are just a couple of very short days away from our 12th Annual DJ Carlson Memorial Bust N Burn and we can't wait to see everyone!

We have a few announcements to make:
Our online registration for shooting and BBQ is currently not cooperating. We will be available on Friday at 8am for cook team registration on site. Don't worry, there's plenty of room for everyone.
Saturday at 8am for shoot team registration.

BBQ:
We have made a couple of changes to our jackpots this year.
*We will no longer have a mixed drink category. It will be margaritas only and that will be an anything goes turn in so make it awesome!
*We now have a steak category. 2 winners will be awarded in this category. Overall steak champion and local steak champion. The locals zip codes are in the photo in comments.
All jackpots are $25 entry. A buckle koozie will be awarded to 1st place jackpots winners. Local steak champion will receive a buckle.
Jackpots are open to anyone. You do not have to enter the 4 meats category to enter a $25 jackpot.
*Kid's Q is now sanctioned with CBA and is now The Future Of BBQ. If your kiddo is chasing points, bring 'em down to Devine, TX for a chance at a Longhorn BBQ Pit.
Gates will open at 8am Friday morning for move in. If you need to come Thursday evening after 6, please contact Jason or Misty.
*Judges need!
If you wouod like to judge to BBQ comp, please arrive 15 mins prior to each category you wish to judge.
