MARCO RUBIO PUMMELS FAKE NEWS REPORTER TRYING TO PIT SLOVAK PM AGAINST US — "THAT WAS IN OUR NATIONAL INTEREST"

Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered a masterclass in straight talk during a joint press conference with Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico.

A reporter tried to manufacture division by asking a question clearly designed to drive a wedge between the two leaders.

Rubio immediately called it out:

"You asked him a question to see if you can get HIM against US!"

He didn't stop there. Rubio went on to defend America's right to put its own interests first:

"A lot of countries didn't like what we did in Venezuela! That's OK. That was in OUR national interest. I'm sure there's something he'll do one day we don't like, and we'll say, 'hey, we didn't like you did this.' SO WHAT?"

Rubio made clear that real alliances aren't destroyed by honest disagreements:

"That doesn't mean we won't be friends, partners, or can't cooperate. We express our opinions all the time."

He then drove the point home with results:

"We have very close allies that didn't like what we did in Venezuela. I can tell you what! It was SUCCESSFUL!"

Calm. Direct. Zero minced words. Rubio stood at the podium next to Fico and refused to play the media's game of division.

The clip captures Rubio gesturing firmly while making every point land.

🚨 BREAKING: SAN MARCOS BECOMES FIRST TEXAS CITY TO BAN DATA CENTERS CITYWIDE

In a historic 4-3 vote, the San Marcos City Council has become the first city in Texas to prohibit data centers within city limits.

The decision comes after months of public debate centered on one issue: water.

Earlier this year, the council rejected a proposed $1.5 billion AI data center campus that would have covered roughly 200 acres and consumed an estimated 25 million gallons of water annually. Community members, water advocates, and local officials argued that large-scale data centers could place additional strain on a region already facing growing water challenges.

The vote is significant because San Marcos sits in the middle of Texas’ fastest-growing data center corridor between Austin and San Antonio, where dozens of AI and cloud-computing facilities are being proposed.

Supporters of the ban say it protects local water resources and gives communities a greater voice in determining their future. Opponents argued the city should evaluate projects individually rather than impose a blanket prohibition.

Perhaps the biggest takeaway is this:

San Marcos demonstrated that local governments still have the authority to use zoning laws to stop projects they believe are not in the community’s best interest.

As industrial development and data center proposals continue to expand across Texas, including discussions occurring in the Rio Grande Valley, communities across the state will be watching closely.

San Marcos just became the first city in Texas to say no.

Do you think cities should have the right to ban large data centers if they believe local water supplies are at risk?

Texans are tapped out on data centers. We already know what it means to watch a summer drag on without rain, to see lakes drop, pastures crack, and towns start talking about water restrictions like they’re part of the forecast. So the idea of massive data centers coming in and pulling from the same water supply families, farmers, ranchers, and communities depend on just doesn’t sit right. Texas can welcome growth, jobs, and technology, but not at the expense of the water that keeps this state alive. Our water is not some unlimited resource waiting to be handed over to the highest bidder. Around here, water is life, and Texans are not interested in watching it get drained away one server farm at a time.

🚨 BREAKING: A major data center developer has reportedly been blocked from expanding into a rural Texas community after residents voiced strong concerns about protecting the state's ranchlands, farmland, wildlife habitats, open spaces, and small-town way of life. 🤠🌾🇺🇸
Community members raised concerns over a proposed billion-dollar development that could have transformed productive farmland, family ranches, and wide-open Texas countryside into a massive complex of warehouse-sized server buildings, substations, cooling systems, and industrial infrastructure.
Residents questioned why Texas ranchland and rural communities were being targeted for large-scale technology projects. Others expressed concerns about water consumption, strain on the power grid, increased traffic, noise, and the long-term impact on local wildlife and agricultural operations.
One resident summed up the feelings of many by saying:
"We’re not giving up our Texas heritage for another hyperscale data center. These ranches, farms, small towns, and open spaces matter. Once they're gone, they're gone."
Across Texas and throughout the nation, more communities are demanding greater transparency, local input, and accountability as developers seek new locations for large-scale data infrastructure projects.
Data centers can be built in many places.
This?
This is Texas. 🤠🌅
Protect the ranchland. Protect the farmland. Protect the communities.
