Welcome to Pretty Brown Girl! Founded in 2010, we are a global movement that encourages girls and young women to celebrate the shades of brown all over the world through our programs, products, and events. By developing positive self esteem, confidence and leadership,through our products, events and After-School Programs girls are empowered to dream their biggest dreams and live the lives that they imagine for themselves. The Pretty Brown Girl brand represents girls everywhere that love to have fun, learn, play, laugh and are happy in their own skin. We know that girls today are receiving mixed messages from the media, their peers, and countless other places. The chasm between childhood and adulthood is an extremely difficult bridge to cross. At a very early age, girls begin to shape their self image, and it is that image that they hold on to. Together we can help to empower a girl and empower the world!

Even if you tried to tell somebody and they brushed you off, that wasn’t fair to you. Tell someone else and keep telling until they listen. Don’t stop fighting for yourself because this is too heavy to carry on your own and you don’t have to.

Yesterday was a reminder of why this work still matters after all these years.

Watching girls from across the country connect, encourage one another, and simply be themselves reaffirmed something I’ve always believed: when girls know they belong, they begin to thrive.

To every parent who trusted us with your daughter, thank you. We don’t take that responsibility lightly.

And to our Pretty Brown Girls, thank you for showing up with open hearts. I can’t wait to see how each of you grows over the next six weeks.

Here’s to confidence, sisterhood, leadership, and every girl discovering the greatness that’s already inside of her.
