The Marygrove Community Association has made real progress in making our neighborhood better. At our Annual Meeting on January 20th, we celebrated these successes, which you can see in our 2025 Year in Review Video.

Thank you to everyone who came out in the cold, and to those who wanted to join us but could not. It was great to see both familiar and new faces as we start the new year. We’re especially thankful for our partner and host, Live6 Alliance.

Brief Recap
We started the 2026 Association year by introducing our Board of Directors and sharing what’s ahead, as shown in the 2026 Annual Meeting Slide Deck. We are proud of our efforts to create a space for civic learning and engagement, especially with the candidate forum we hosted for those running for Detroit City Council at large and in District 2.

The 2026 Annual Meeting kept the focus on civic engagement. We heard updates from our government officials: District 2 City Council Member Angela Whitfield Calloway, District 5 Wayne County Commissioner Angelique Peterson Mayberry, new District 2 Manager Marshall Bullock, and returning Deputy District Manager Sean Davis. Their reports covered initiatives that matter to the Marygrove community.

Upcoming
We are excited for what 2026 will bring and look forward to building on our work from the past three years in climate, blight, and safety (CBS).
