Join Marygrove Community Association for “Lessons From Detroit’s Black Educators,” a community conversation in support of In Perpetuity: Preserving Fitzgerald-Marygrove’s Black Educational Legacy.

Hear from three leaders who have shaped classrooms, schools, and policy:

Dr. Rema Vassar – Trustee, Michigan State; Professor, Wayne State; Founder, Centering Black Children in Education

Anton Horton – Executive Director, Boldly Moving Education Ahead; Doctoral Candidate, Wayne State; former principal and dean

Dr. Steven Snead – Supervisor of Curriculum and Assessment, Oakland Schools; former teacher and data specialist

Voices From the Neighborhood is an oral history performance created by Extra Mile Playwrights Theatre.

Join us at the Kentucky Street Wildflower Meadow(16197 Kentucky St, 48221) next Saturday, September 19th for a fun filled story time and intro to composting for kids! 10am-11am

All ages welcome. Snacks provided.

*if you would like to bring your food waste from that morning or as many days as you’d like to collect it so we can weigh it please do! We can compost all food scraps - dairy and meat included. Any leftover or spoiled food is also able to be composted.
