The Marygrove Community Association, a 501(c)(3), encompasses the Marygrove community in the Fitzgerald neighborhood. The Association takes its name from the former Marygrove College which lies within the boundaries of W. McNichols to the north, Puritan Avenue to the south, Greenlawn Street to the east, and Wyoming Avenue to the West. With over 400+ households, busin

esses, houses of worship, and schools within the Marygrove community, the Marygrove Community Association seeks to cultivate and sustain relationships toward the betterment of the shared community.

We’ll cut the beautiful flowers blooming at the garden and learn tips on how to arrange them! There will also be opportunities to engage around the MCA Green Arts Alley initiative.
This work is a part of a MCA collaboration with local architecture firm, Detroit Collaborative Design Center (DCDC), located down the street at University of Detroit Mercy. DCDC + MCA will be engaging residents to design the alley between Indiana Stand Kentucky St from Florence to Puritan. This work will establish a vision and vibe for the future redevelopment of the alley as a part of MCA’s Civic Commons.

Remember the pollinator garden Marygrove Community Association helped plant with their The School at Marygrove Senior Engineering Capstone scholars this Spring? It’s thriving! All the plants are showing new growth and there are even multiple monarch eggs on the Rose Milkweed 💚🌱🌎 Don’t forget to include it on a walk sometime soon!

The Marygrove Community Association invites you to participate in our General Meeting on Tuesday, July 21, from 6:30–8:00 PM.

About This Meet and Greet General Meeting

This event is non-partisan and independent. We bring together candidates and community members to discuss issues that matter most to Fitzgerald–Marygrove residents—including climate action, neighborhood safety, blight reduction, and economic opportunity. Our goal is to help both our community and candidates understand each other’s priorities and concerns.

What to Expect

Brief candidate introductions
Q&A on topics important to our neighborhood
Direct engagement with primary candidates
We believe informed residents and informed candidates make stronger communities. Your participation strengthens that dialogue.
