St. Pat is mourning our beloved Ms. Dolores Braxton, who passed away after a lengthy illness. We remember her so fondly for the way she handled our front reception desk for so many years, for the jaunty way she always answered the telephone, and because she knew all about everything going on in the place! Her St. Pat family helped take care of her in her final days - SaTrice, Lisa, Karen, Jackie and others. Rest in Peace, Ms. Dolores. We’ll have a memorial at the center at 1:30 on Tuesday, September 1. See the flyer for details.

St Christine Christian Services does wonderful work in the Brightmoor neighborhood of Northwest Detroit - including a soup kitchen and food pantry supported by our friends at Knights of Equity - Court 6, Detroit and Daughters of Erin Court 6 Detroit. The groups not only raise funding - including the annual "Burger Night" in May - but also volunteer their time and talent, and they're helping with this new community garden behind the pantry. The dedication on Monday is a good chance to see St. Christine.

On Saturday, we were fortunate to have the people from St. Jane Frances de Chantal parish - plus some other helpers - prepare and serve lunch.
