The Chicago Torske Klub is off for the summer. If you're not fishing, golfing or watching Norway in the world cup, there's an interesting festival next week for Midsummer Solstice: Swedish Days in Geneva IL. See you there.

Held the last week in June, Geneva Swedish Days celebrates the heritage of Swedish immigrants who settled in the Geneva Illinois area.

The Norwegian National League of Chicago is offering a Scholarship in amount of $1,000.00 and a Haug Family Scholarship in amount of $1,500.00. They are also offering cash prizes to deserving students who are of Norwegian heritage residing in the counties of Boone, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, LaSalle, McHenry, Willand Winnebago.
