And that's a wrap for our spring 2026 tree planting season 🎉 Every tree we plant is through the help of community members who come out, rain or shine, to volunteer with us. Whether you're getting dirty planting trees or cheering us on from the sidelines, we appreciate your support! 💚💚💚

This season we planted trees in the Historic East Village, Union Park, and Highland Park Neighborhoods. We also planted at a nonprofit in West Des Moines, Meals from the Heartland. This was done with the help of 16 different volunteer groups, our Growing Futures teen members, and our TreeKeepers.

Yesterday, our crew had the pleasure of adding 16 trees to the Meals from the Heartland West Des Moines packaging center. As volunteers arrive to package meals for children and families facing hunger around the world, they will be able to view our newly planted trees!

These trees were planted as a part of a pilot program for West Des Moines called Campus Canopy 10+. Stay tuned to see the other campus we’ll be planting at 👀
