🇺🇸 Happy Birthday, National Guard!

Today, we proudly honor 389 years of faithful service by the men and women of the National Guard — founded on December 13, 1636, making it the oldest military force in the United States.

The National Guard has always stood ready, resilient, and unwavering in service to our communities and our country.

The New York State Department of Veterans' Services thanks all who have served — past and present — for answering the call, generation after generation.

Always Ready. Always There.

Thank you to those who attended our Christmas party last night. A big shout out to the 16 Ellicott Bar and Grill for doing a great job with dinner! Owner Dave Hastreiter and our server Jackie were fantastic and so easy to deal with. Food was delicious too!

Happy 78th Birthday to the United States Air Force! ✈️🇺🇸🎂

Today, we celebrate the 78th anniversary of the United States Air Force, established on September 18, 1947. From its earliest days to today’s cutting-edge missions in air, space, and cyberspace, the Air Force has embodied its motto: “Aim High … Fly-Fight-Win.”

Our New York State Department of Veterans' Services proudly salutes the men and women of the Air Force — past and present — for their courage, innovation, and dedication to protecting our nation.

The Lancaster Fire Department extends our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and fellow firefighters affected by the tragic shooting in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on Sunday, June 29.

We are heartbroken to learn that two firefighters lost their lives in the line of duty, and a third was injured while selflessly serving their community. Firefighters across the nation are more than just responders — we are a family. And today, we mourn the loss of our brothers in Idaho.

To the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department: please know that your grief is shared across departments far and wide. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
