Our mission is to transform economic systems to close the racial wealth gap. We seek to foster collective power by advancing community and employee ownership, leveraging the economic engines of anchor institutions, and strengthening small businesses in historically excluded communities.​​

Solidarity -- Everything we do, we do in solidarity with the communities we serve, and we do it to advance solidarity economies. The dominant economy is designed to benefit a wealthy few at the expense of many. Solidarity economies are driven by individuals and groups with a goal of meeting our needs collectively. Sovereignty -- Sovereignty is the right of people and communities to make meaningful decisions about their own lives. When a community has sovereignty, they get to define what well being means to them and create systems that support their well-being. Economic Justice -- Economic justice means everyone has what they need to not just survive, but thrive. It means you have both bread—and roses, too. It means closing the racial wealth gap, ensuring dignity for working class people, and not leaving anyone behind.

We are building something bold...

A community space rooted in dignity, belonging, and power for people too often pushed to the margins. This capital campaign is about who gets remembered, who is visible, who can say, “I helped build this!” As one member put it: “It’s a rare opportunity for people like me to have my name permanently in a community space, so I’m buying my leaf!”

This space is built by regular people: workers, neighbors, families, and community members who want a home for organizing, healing, celebration, and collective power.

At CCW, we believe one of the most powerful ways to honor that legacy of service is by building a future where their families and communities can thrive. Today, we reflect on the courage of those who served and recommit to supporting the veteran-owned and BIPOC businesses that continue to strengthen the fabric of our neighborhoods. 🕊️✨

Este día de Recordación (Memorial Day) honramos a los valientes miembros del servicio militar que sacrificaron sus vidas para proteger nuestras comunidades, incluyendo a los innumerables héroes BIPOC cuyas historias y legados han dado forma a nuestra historia.
