When we protect the high-priority natural resource land that remains on the Cape, we protect our wildlife.

And when wildlife thrives, so do all of us.

Humans, flora, or fauna, bay, sea or sound, our futures are inextricably linked.

Five months ago, Team SOS was just an idea.

Today it's a growing movement of people across the Cape working to preserve the remaining high-priority natural resource lands that make life here possible.

And we're just getting started.

The future of the Cape isn’t something we inherit; it’s something we shape.

For William Mullin, President of the Provincetown Conservation Trust, that means protecting the natural habitats that sustain our communities, economy, and environment.

This is the Cape he wants to shape.

What’s the Cape you want to shape?

This is what decades of development look like.

From the 1950s through the early 2000s, Cape Cod experienced explosive population growth, and the maps show it. Sprawling development reshaped the Cape in ways we’re still contending with today.

Only 14% of the Cape is left unprotected and undeveloped. Of that area, 80% is high-priority natural resource land that all life on the Cape depends on.

Yesterday, Team SOS members came together—from every corner of the Cape—to organize for permanent land protection.

We heard from people who've already helped win protections and advocate for the environment in Falmouth, Brewster, Orleans, Harwich, Mashpee, and Provincetown. We mapped out what's next.

And we left more ready than ever.

This is the Cape We Shape.

You can still register for the Team SOS Rally!

On Wednesday morning, June 17th, Team SOS members from across the Cape come together for the first time—in person—to organize for permanent land protection.

You'll hear directly from people and land trusts who’ve helped protect land in Falmouth, Brewster, and elsewhere: how they did it, what it took, and what's possible in your town.

The Cape's future isn't predetermined.

Every acre protected is a pond that stays swimmable, a well that stays drinkable, a trail that stays walkable. Small moves here have big consequences—in both directions.

The people who love this place have always been its best protection. That's still true. And there's still time to protect our most critical resources.
