Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County ( ) was created 40 years ago—by the community, for the community—to help every child in Palm Beach County grow up healthy, safe, and strong. Funded through local property taxes, CSCPBC invests 93% of its budget directly into vital programs and services for children and families, including essential local non-profit initiatives like our community garden programs! 🥦🌻
Here is what that means for local homeowners:
Steady Impact: CSCPBC has kept its tax rate steady for the past three years.
Affordable Investment: A typical single-family homeowner pays only about $160 a year to support these community-wide programs.
When you pay your property taxes, you are directly nourishing programs that feed, educate, and empower local youth and families across Palm Beach County. 💙

🌱 October Edibles to Plant 🪴North Florida
Easily transplant: arugula, beets, broccoli, [Brussels sprouts, cabbage,] cauliflower, Chinese cabbage, collards, endive, kale, kohlrabi, lettuce, strawberry, and Swiss chard.

Transplant with care: celery, mustard, and spinach.

Use seeds: carrots, onions (bunching), radish, and turnips.

Central Florida
Easily transplant: arugula, beets, broccoli, [Brussels sprouts, cabbage,] cauliflower, Chinese cabbage, collards, endive, kale, kohlrabi, lettuce, strawberry, sugarcane, strawberry, Swiss chard, and tropical spinaches.

Transplant with care: celery, mustard, pineapple, and spinach.

Use seeds: carrots, onions (bulbing, bunching), radish, and turnips.

South Florida
Easily transplant: arugula, beets, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, Chinese cabbage, collards, eggplant, endive, kale, kohlrabi, lettuce, peppers, strawberry, sugarcane, Swiss chard, tomatillo, tomatoes, and tropical spinaches.

Transplant with care: amaranth, calabaza, celery, long squash, luffa, mustard, pineapple, potatoes, Seminole pumpkin, and spinach.

Use seeds: beans (bush, lima, pole), carrots, corn, cucumbers, okra, onions (bulbing, bunching), peas (southern), radish, squashes, and turnips.

For the purposes of this planting calendar, "North Florida" refers to all of Florida north of State Road 40. "Central Florida" refers to the section of Florida between State Roads 40 and 70. "South Florida" refers to all of Florida below State Road 70.
