Our mission is to supply new household items to children who are aging out of foster care in Palm Beach County, Fl. There are approximately 200 children aging out of foster care annually in Palm Beach County, Florida and there are no funds available to assist them with the purchase of basic household needs. These are the same items that you would purchase for your own children when they head off t
o college or move out on their own. Unfortunately, these foster children have no family to ask for assistance, or none they can rely on. That’s where My Own Home Project Inc. We provide a list of items for these young people to choose from to help them on their own personal path to independence and self care. At Distribution Parties we provide these young adults with new household items including: dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots and pans with utensils, a blanket, pillows, linens, towels, two decorative items and lamps, a toaster and a microwave. We feel these are basic necessities needed to start your life and through this donation, we feel these kids will connect to their new surroundings and feel pride in ownership and a sense of personal security. We are helping to give them a fresh start, a sense that someone cares about their future, so they will feel more likely to be invested in their future as well.
