We had such a great time at our annual VCAS Alumni End of Summer Cookout at Blendon Woods Metropark 🍉🐾

From good food and cold drinks to co****le, cotton candy courtesy of , a bounce house, and dog nail trims, it was a great evening.

We loved seeing so many of our veterans, their families, and their companion dogs all in one place. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this year’s cookout so much fun❗

We recently reached an incredible milestone: 100 rescue dogs placed with veterans❗🐾 And we believe milestones are best celebrated with the people who made them possible.

That’s why this year’s 7th Annual Pars for Patriots Golf Outing will be more than just a day on the course. We’re celebrating the first 100 veteran lives changed through the VCAS mission and the veterans, rescue dogs, volunteers, donors, sponsors, partners, and families who helped make it happen.

Join us Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Safari Golf Club for a day of golf, great food, and a look back at the journey that brought us to this milestone. Throughout the outing, we’ll be sharing the story of VCAS, from our earliest days to placement #100.

🎉🐾 100 PLACEMENTS 🐾🎉

Hi, everyone❗ It’s me, Gino, and I have some BIG news to share. I’m officially Veteran Companion Animal Services’ 100th placement 🥳🇺🇸. This is an incredible milestone for VCAS and all of you who have supported and stood by their mission.

My person is Antonio, an Army veteran who served for 3 years as a parachute rigger. Now I get to spend my days with Antonio, his wife Melissa, and their cat, Henry. I think we’re going to make a pretty great family ❤️

I came to Gigi's after I was surrendered in Lawrence County with another dog. Now, this 12-pound little mix has officially found his forever home. I love playing with people, showing off my toys, and I’m always up for a good game of tug. But when playtime is over, I’m happiest curled up in your lap getting all the cuddles.

Being placement #100 makes this extra special, but I think the best part is knowing I get to be the next chapter in Antonio’s story.

Here’s to 100 veterans, 100 rescue dogs, and countless more moments of companionship 🇺🇸🐾
