Join us for a Volusia Gathering tomorrow, October 18th, 6pm-8pm

WHAT ARE GATHERINGS? Christ-centered support gatherings welcoming LGBTQ+ individuals, loved ones, and allies from all denominations. Whether you’re exploring how to be a better ally, looking for community, or hoping to share and listen to real experiences, you are welcome here. Together, we celebrate faith, love, and the unique journeys that make each of us who we are.

HOW IS A GATHERING? We begin with a hymn, followed by a prayer, and then make announcements on events happening in the community. We also feature "Rainbow Connection" (a discussion about the advocacy we have undertaken with the LGBTQ+ community over the last month) and address a topic. Then we let our special guest share their story with us.

Water and light refreshments will be provided. If you would like to bring snacks to share, that would be wonderful.

There are TWO WEEKS left to complete the Volusia County Comprehensive Community Survey!

LGBTQ+ residents and students in Volusia county, you are invited to participate in a survey by Volusia Pride in collaboration with Stetson University about the experiences and needs of LGBTQ+ individuals in Volusia County!

This survey will be up for the next two weeks, and it is anonymous. Responses will be used to inform future programming.

You must be 18 years of age or older and live or go to school in Volusia County to participate. The survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete and you may skip any question or stop at any time.

Oct 16 | 6pm - Family Dinner: Spooky Favorites

Creepy, cute, or downright bizarre dishes are welcome! Bring Halloween-themed treats, eerie appetizers, hauntingly good mains, or foods disguised as something spooky. Costumes optional but encouraged.

Family Dinner is a monthly potluck gathering where our chosen family comes together to share food, laughter, and connection. Everyone brings a dish—simple or elaborate, store-bought or homemade—to contribute to a communal meal built with variety, warmth, and love.

It’s a space where community is built one shared plate at a time, where new friendships form, and where everyone has a seat at the table. No matter what you bring or how you show up, you’re part of the family.

Join us every third Friday of the month as we celebrate the joy of gathering, sharing, and creating community through food.

Don your leather jacket, corset, and fishnet tights—because DeLand Pride and the Absent Friends are bringing the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show back to the Athens Theatre after much “antici…pation.”

Experiencing “Rocky” for the first time? Or maybe the 100th? We invite you to come do “The Time Warp” again!

The fun begins before the film with live drag performances from DeLand Pride (bring those $ bills for tips!), followed by the Absent Friends and emcee Robert Baldwin welcoming—and hilariously initiating—our “Rocky Virgins.”

Then it’s time for the 1975 20th Century Fox cult classic, accompanied by a live shadow cast performing the movie onstage as it plays on the big screen. Expect dancing, callbacks, audience participation, and plenty of Rocky Horror mayhem!
