From ME STRONG to the Chicago Marathon!

Congratulations to Emma Grace Hurley for smashing the American Women's Marathon debut record with a time of 2:20:47! Even elite runners know there is something special about the ME STRONG 5k. We are proud to be part of her running journey.

Our hearts are heavy as we remember Dr. Mac Steen, a dear friend to so many in our community.

For generations of DeLand families, Mac was THE orthodontist, the man behind so many beautiful smiles. But his legacy reaches far beyond those smiles. We will remember his dedication to Service Above Self, his love of the Florida Gators, and those unmistakable Jimmy Buffett and tie-dye shirts. Most of all, we will remember the heart behind it all.

We may not have the Mayor’s authority, but we are declaring this Saturday Dr. Steen Day! Join us in wearing your favorite tropical or tie-dye shirt in his honor. Let’s fill the community he loved with a little of his color, joy and spirit.

Our love is with Kathy, Katie, Rusty, the entire family, and everyone whose life he touched.

Thank you, Mac, for giving DeLand so many reasons to smile.
We will carry those smiles, and your memory, with us!
