Another action packed day! This morning we met with the kids again. This is one of their normal school days, but they are on break, so we had a simple day. We had porridge and protein cookies for a snack. I brought some simple games for them to have “recess” 😊.

They love their teacher, Lydia, so much and love school. We are hoping to add another teacher soon.

This afternoon we met with the pastors in our pastors group. We were able to gift them each with a brand new bicycle. Some of these pastors walk up to 7 miles to reach their congregations. This bicycle will be so helpful to them. They were so excited!

Thank you to everyone who donated to the bicycles! What a blessing to them!

Today we met with the men’s group. This group meets weekly with Pastor Elisha. There were 58 men who came today.

We shared a hot meal and a soda with the men and they shared the things they would like to see for their community. The change in these men from when we started is unbelievable.

They are learning a different mind set and learning about Jesus! It is incredible!

Their wishlist for their community on This Is Hope’s land includes: permanent school rooms for the children, a pit latrine, more fruit trees, a larger gardening area, more land, a church building and a first aid building. When we first started working with them their wishes were always personal like shoes, shirts, blankets, etc. Now they are praying for things that benefit their community and family. ❤️

This group of men are no longer laying under trees drinking the local brew all day or fighting each other. They were anxious to get back to the fields to work. This is definitely God! Amazing!

There was a lot of activity at This Is Hope today. We met with the girls group that meets once a month for hygiene pads and fellowship. We have about 50 girls in this group. They had a meal and a soda and received hygiene pads, panties and soap.

We had a great discussion on items they need for proper hygiene. We received great feedback on how we can enhance and improve our hygiene support. 😊

At the same time, we had a group of mamas who were past recipients of our birthing kits. They were requesting we give their babies a Christian name. So many beautiful healthy babies! One was only one day old!!! The mamas also shared a meal and a soda before going home.👶🏽

And while all of this activity was happening we had our barber, Mike, giving haircuts for some of the children. This allows for better hygiene for the kids and they absolutely love seeing what they look like in the mirror.

Tomorrow we are meeting with the men’s group for a meal and fellowship and possibly visiting the prison to meet with the women there!

What a beautiful day! We had a meal and social time with our elderly group today. We currently have 20 elderly men and women enrolled in our group. We have seen a big improvement in these 20 individuals. Not just because they get a small package of food every week, but because they have HOPE! They have a reason to leave their huts. They have friends to socialize with. But most of all, they now have Jesus!

We also harvested some of our vegetables to add to the meal! This garden is providing work for some of the young women in the community and providing the vegetables for our tatas and papas ❤️

We have many more that are desperate to be part of this group. We had 20 additional elderly men and women come today hoping to be added. We included them in today’s meal, but they were not added to the weekly group.😢

Each new member receives a mattress, blanket and Jerry can. This is the only mattress and blanket they have ever had. They also receive a weekly packet of food. It costs $20 a month for each elderly member.

We will be starting a sponsorship program for these tatas and papas in hopes that we can add those who are waiting. At least 5 of the 20 that are waiting are urgent additions.

We had a beautiful day with the new mamas outreach today! Every other month we gather new pregnant mamas in the area and do education, distribute birthing kits and have a meal for them.

This is so important for the mamas and babies to have a safe delivery. Lots of smiles and laughter today! They loved the baby clothes and blankets.
