Spring is loading here at FRFS! 🌱🪻🌦️🌷
It really hit me last week that we finally made it through winter…. which after lots of hard work in the snow and frigid cold, feels like such a relief. But each season brings with it a new set of challenges along with many of things to be grateful for and cherish.
Spring feels like hope. Like new beginnings. The world around the sanctuary is starting to wake up after a long winter’s rest. Our bird friends are all coming back to sing their songs, the trees are sporting their new buds and the ground is soft and drenched as it prepares to come to life again.
It’s a favorite time for many of the residents to soak up far more warmth than we’ve been used to the past few months before the bugs are back in full swing. It’s also a time of adjustment for their bodies and health. It’s a time where I take careful notes of changes in behaviors, pay extra attention to how each of them are adjusting to the seasonal change, and evaluate accommodations for care needed for the warmer months ahead.
And while we tackled some of our biggest projects yet last year, there’s always an abundance of maintenance, updates, and smaller projects on the horizon. And if you are a member over on Patreon, you will get to come along for the ride with our sanctuary vlogs. I’m excited this year to focus on projects that really expand on our mission to care for the land and ecosystem, alongside the sanctuary residents. So we would love for you to come along with us on Patreon we continue to bloom! ✨
