My name is Tracy. I'm 32 years old and I'm a recovering h3roin addict. I've been clean since Dec 24, 2013.

I was born and raised a small town Indiana girl. The daughter of a factory worker and a church secretary, I was the first in my family to ever try drugs.

I've always been a sensitive person. A 'potflower' my grandma called me. Because of that, I took the middle school mean girls to heart and developed a struggle with self-esteem and feeling like I didn't belong from an early age.

In high school I found w**d and alcohol and didn't have to care if I belonged. My addiction progressed over the years and by my late teens, I'd found my new favorite... h3roin.

It didn't take long for that addiction to progress. Over the next 5 years, I was arrested 7+ times, cars repoed, fired from jobs, sent to prison for burglary and estranged from everyone I loved.

I was released from Indiana Women’s Prison into a halfway house in 2014. It was there that I became pregnant with my 1st child. I bonded with my baby. It was time for me to grow up. I enrolled in school, got a job as a waitress and began rebuilding a life for us.

8 years later, I'm still building… but I'm not a truck stop waitress anymore, I'm a therapist and recovery coach.

Building an amazing life and staying focused on my purpose has kept me clean. My goal now is to help others realize that not only can you recover, but you can also find a level of success and happiness you never dreamed possible.

Rode the bus to his graduation.
Walked across the stage with no family support, nobody to hug him or congratulate him.
Rode the bus back home.
The back of his gown wet due to sweat.
He defied the odds.
He was motivated to complete his task.
