The Mainstay Foundation has made its mission to advance individuals, develop organizations, and build communities. The Foundation began as a collective team of individuals joined together in an effort to effectively serve the advancement of this cause. Our team has served in a host of capacities, institutions, and organizations across the nation, bringing together diverse back- grounds and experie

nces in service of a community vision and strategy. In less than three years, the foundation has spearheaded initiatives that have brought organizations together nationwide and built into the infrastructure of our communities. Its plan is to continue doing just that.

Engaging individuals and organizations is a core tenet of the Mainstay Foundation. As such, we have held numerous events and meetings with community members. We intently listened to the diverse members of our communities and sought to understand their outlook on the most important issues they face. We in turn shared the work of the foundation and solicited their feedback to better address their needs as organizations and individuals. Each and every one of these sessions in themselves have proven to be tremendously effective. The mere engagement with members and leaders of different communities across the country is a key component in understanding where development is needed and how we can work together for our common goals of service.

What can the teachings of Ahlulbayt (a) reveal about the way we eat, rest, and care for our bodies today? 

Join Dr. Jina Berro, PhD, MS, C.Ht, ACC, for a sisters-only session exploring Medicine of Ahlulbayt through the lens of integrative and functional medicine. As a functional and integrative nutrition doctor, Dr. Berro brings a whole-person approach that considers the connection between the body, mind, environment, and everyday habits. 

Participants will explore nutritional and lifestyle practices found within Medicine of Ahlulbayt, including moderation in eating, fasting, sleep patterns, and mindful living, alongside current research and principles of integrative and functional medicine. The session is designed to help attendees recognize the depth of guidance within the teachings of Ahlulbayt (a) and consider how it can inform healthier daily choices.

This Sunday, August 23, more than 10 community institutions are uniting for a historic blood drive—and we need 100 donors to step forward.

For the first time in Michigan, this drive will pilot newly available Arabic-language support for blood donation. Arabic-speaking donors are especially encouraged to participate, test the new system, and help make blood donation more accessible nationwide.

In honor of Prophet Muhammad (ص) and Imam Hussain (ع), turn compassion into action: Schedule your appointment and donate blood.
