😇Harvest of Gratitude 🙌🏽
Fresh from the garden to the community!
Homage to Black Excellence and GOD’S WALKING CLUB extend our sincere gratitude to the United Church of Christ Michigan Conference and the Shrine of the Black Madonna for investing in healthier communities through your generous grant support. Because of your partnership, we are able to grow, harvest, and share fresh whole foods while encouraging movement, fellowship, food sovereignty, and lifelong wellness. 💜
This week’s harvest of fresh turnips is another reminder that when communities plant together, everyone can benefit.
Did you know?
🥬 Turnips are naturally rich in vitamin C, which supports a healthy immune system.
💜 One cup of cooked turnips provides about 30–35 calories, making them a nutrient-dense, low-calorie whole food.
🌿 Turnips provide dietary fiber, which supports digestive health and helps promote fullness.
🦴 Turnip greens are an excellent source of vitamin K, an important nutrient for healthy bones.
❤️ Turnips naturally contain potassium, a mineral that supports normal muscle function and healthy blood pressure when eaten as part of a balanced diet.
Together, we are planting seeds of:
😇 Health
🤝 Community
💜 Faith
🥕 Food Sovereignty
🚶🏾♀️ Wholeness
Thank you for helping us demonstrate that access to fresh, whole foods and community support can strengthen lives one harvest, one walk, and one family at a time.
