Foundation For Health Since its inception in 1986, The FOUNDATION FOR HEALTH has served the Northern Hills Communities of South Dakota in a variety of ways.

FUNDING: The foundation has continued to be independently funded through small and large donations from numerous sources. These donations have provided the pathway for the foundation to generously fund numerous community projects. This has been accomplished both as being the sole contributor and through partnerships with other organizations. PURPOSE: The Foundation for Health is independent from

Lead-Deadwood Regional Hospital, but still is strongly devoted to the hospital mission, assisting financially with hospital needs to improve local medical access for community members. Beyond the hospital, the mission of the foundation also includes financially supporting general community safety, and needs of well-being for individuals. PROJECTS: Since 1986, the foundation has donated to many community projects, organizations, and individuals. Some examples of assistance to our community include, helping individuals fighting cancer through our annual Tough Enough to Wear Pink Campaign Campaign Funds with the Days of 76 Rodeo, donating helmets for young skiers for local ski programs, matching funds for new ambulances for the Lead-Deadwood Regional Hospital Ambulance Service, offerings of community education and preventive medical testing, donations of Physical Therapy education and equipment, among many others. We’re just 5 days away from our 2nd Annual RED SOLO CUP FUNDRAISER WEEKEND!

What is Red Solo Cup Weekend?
On February 5th, 2024, we lost a legend—Toby Keith—to cancer. To honor his legacy and make a difference in our community, we at SOB are hosting our annual Red Solo Cup Weekend to raise awareness and support for local families in need.

When & Where?
Join us February 7th, 8th, and 9th for a weekend full of exciting activities and events at SOB!

Why?
Our mission is simple: Bring people together, have a great time, and give back to our local communities. Every dollar raised will stay local, benefiting families in St. Onge, Belle Fourche, Sturgis, Spearfish, Deadwood, Lead, and beyond!

ALL of the money raised goes to the Major Illness Fund which stays local and helps ALL cancer patients get to appointments. (help with food, motels, gas).
