Wes Magnus is the heart and soul behind K9 Elite's exceptional training program. With a wealth of knowledge and a genuine love for dogs, Wes is dedicated to shaping our puppies into the perfect companions for our heroes. His expertise and passion ensure that each dog is prepared to provide the support and love our veterans and first responders need.

Why service dogs Wes?

"I got into training service dogs because I felt I could do more with raising and training dogs, then just hunting. I have seen the depth of how a dog can help people psychologically and knew I could use my dogs to do the same."

"I have a big heart for our veterans and first responders. Training service dogs for these heroes, is my way to give back."

Today, we honor and remember sweet Whiskey. Chris M., was the recipient of a service dog at the 2022 SMRC Winter Gala. Whiskey was more than just a service dog; she was a loyal companion and a true friend to Chris.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Whiskey's passing in June. Her love, support, and unwavering dedication to Chris will never be forgotten.

Thank you, Whiskey, for your incredible service and the joy you brought into the lives of those you touched. Rest in peace, sweet girl. 🐾💔

As we prepare to honor our nation's heroes this Independence Day, let's also take care of our four-legged heroes. Here are some tips to ensure a stress-free holiday for your service dog:

Create a Calm Environment: Set up a cozy spot with their favorite blanket and toys away from the noise.
Exercise Early: Give them a good walk or playtime early in the day to tire them out before the festivities begin.
Avoid Fireworks: Keep them inside during fireworks displays to prevent anxiety and stress.
Secure Your Yard: If you’re having guests over, make sure your yard is secure to prevent any accidental escapes.
Check for Hazards: Be mindful of decorations, sparklers, and other items that could pose a danger to your dog.
