I am so incredibly grateful for everyone who helped us put this event together!!
I sat on my porch this morning drinking my coffee and thinking about how great this event was yesterday (in spite of a few hiccups along the way).
I truly believe that the decision to extend the hours was the best decision of all. So many commented that having more time to set up and sell crafts, play games, and view silent auction items made all the difference in the world.
We had a tremendous number of silent auction items and with the extended hours we got bids on nearly everything. Last year when we left, we came back with quite a few items that no one bid on at all - not this year! Wow!
We have so many to thank that I don’t really know where to start - first and foremost, the Danville First Church of God who allowed us to use their property to hold the event. Finding a location that can provide us with the space we need to go indoors in the event of inclement weather WAS HUGE!! Susan and Wayne Lykins, church secretary Lois Pike, and church board members . . . we are grateful beyond words!!
I will make a few separate posts to thank the sponsors, donors, volunteers, etc. in the coming days because if I do that all at once, that would make for a lengthy post. Stay tuned for more about that in the near future.
For now, I say thank you to EVERYONE who made this possible!!
