Blood Cancer United - North Texas Doing the most for more people with blood cancer. We are the North Texas region of Blood Cancer United. How?

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is now Blood Cancer United. We are Blood Cancer United, and we believe everyone with blood cancer deserves a longer, better life. That’s why we are on a mission to find a cure and improve the quality of life for everyone with blood cancer. We fund life-saving blood cancer research around the world, provide free information and support services for patients and their families, and are the voice for those seeking access to quality, affordable, coordinated care. With your help, we have invested more than $1.8 billion in groundbreaking research supporting many of today’s most innovative approaches to treatment—helping those with blood cancer not only survive but also thrive.

Thank you, Builders FirstSource, for over 20 years of partnership and for helping raise more than $1.6 million this year to support blood cancer patients, families, and research. We are grateful for your continued commitment to our mission and the impact you've helped make possible. 💛

We're thrilled to announce that our 2026 charity event raised approximately $1.6 million for Blood Cancer United.

This marks the 20th year of the Builders FirstSource partnership with Blood Cancer United, which has helped raise more than $19 million for critical research, patient support, and advocacy programs dedicated to advancing treatments and cures for blood cancers over those two decades.

Builders FirstSource CEO Peter Jackson and Chief Operating Officer-Designate Mike Hiller presented Blood Cancer United with a check for $250,000 on behalf of the Builders FirstSource Foundation, a private charitable foundation introduced earlier this year.

Reshmi Parameswaran, PhD, at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, is one of six researchers receiving new hairy cell leukemia research grants through HCL2030, our program with the Hairy Cell Leukemia Foundation.

Her research examines how hairy cell leukemia becomes resistant to treatment and develops new treatment strategies for its variant form, a rarer, faster-growing type of the disease.

Together, the grants will invest nearly $7 million over five years in hairy cell leukemia research.

This holiday season, give a card with a little extra meaning. ❤️

Cards from Blood Cancer United's Dare to Dream Project are here in two designs: a holiday card featuring original artwork by Penelope, a 12-year-old leukemia survivor, and our "Dream. Believe. Do. Repeat." greeting card.

Each pack of 10 is a way to celebrate the people you love while supporting Blood Cancer United's mission, including Dare to Dream's work transforming treatment and care for kids with blood cancer.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a new treatment option for select adults with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) who haven't been treated before. ❤️

If you or someone you love is facing CLL or SLL, that's one more option on the table, and one more reason for hope.

This didn't happen by chance. Years ago, we helped fund the research that taught scientists how these cancers grow, the science this treatment is built on.

Today, we're funding what comes next: ways to pair treatments like this one with others so people can stay in remission even longer.

This is what investment in science looks like. This is what collective action makes possible.

This one is worth saving.❤️

Words from someone who is in it right now. Alana is two treatments into her Hodgkin lymphoma care, with a two-year-old and a three-year-old at home and a partner carrying the load during treatment weeks.

Her first round, she pushed herself. Her second round, she rested a lot more, and it went better. So her first piece of advice is to let yourself rest on the days your body asks for it.

Her second piece of advice is to lean on the people who are carrying it with you.

And her third piece of advice is to find one small thing to look forward to on treatment day. For Alana, it's her outfit of the day.

In her words: "These little things help, but there's no way to do this besides just going through it and figuring out what works for you."

You don't have to figure it out alone.

"The person Karen needed when she was diagnosed didn't exist. So she became that person for someone else."

When Karen was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, she felt alone. Years later, she found a community through Blood Cancer United, and today she volunteers with Myeloma Link, shares her story, and walks alongside others facing a new blood cancer diagnosis so they know they don't have to face it alone.

Karen also knows how overwhelming the financial burden of cancer can be. After her stem cell transplant, she returned to work before she was ready because she couldn't risk losing her job and health insurance. Even with insurance, the cost of treatment was staggering. Blood Cancer United's financial assistance program provided support when she needed it most.

This North Texas Giving Day, your gift helps patients access critical financial assistance, educational resources, and a community of support during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

💙 Give today and help ensure no blood cancer patient has to choose between their health and financial stability, and no one has to face blood cancer alone.

Today, on North Texas Giving Day, we're proud to shine a light on three incredible North Texas Light The Night Honored Heroes: Lucy representing Tarrant County, Xavier representing Dallas, and Mabel representing Collin County. Their stories represent the strength, resilience, and hope of so many individuals and families impacted by blood cancer.

As our community comes together today, we celebrate these heroes and the progress made possible through support, advocacy, education, research, and patient services. Their journeys remind us why our mission matters and inspire us to keep moving forward.

Together, we're creating hope for blood cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and families across North Texas and beyond. Thank you for being part of a community that stands with those impacted by blood cancer every step of the way. 💛✨

Last year, Blood Cancer United provided life-changing support to families across North Texas.

💙 We served 2,408 patients and caregivers, provided more than $4 million in financial and co-pay assistance, and helped prevent, resolve, or reduce over $619,000 in medical debt.

Behind every number is a person facing one of life's toughest challenges: a blood cancer diagnosis. Thanks to supporters like you, patients and families received financial relief, educational resources, and hope when they needed it most.

This North Texas Giving Day, your support can help us reach even more people facing blood cancer and ensure no one has to navigate their journey alone.

At just 8 years old, Peyton faced seven rounds of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Large B Cell Lymphoma. Through it all, he kept smiling and kept his family laughing. When he lost his hair, his dad and grandfather shaved their heads too, reminding him he was never fighting alone.

Today, Peyton’s story is one of hope, but many families are still in the middle of their blood cancer journey.

This North Texas Giving Day, make your gift and help fund lifesaving research, financial assistance, and critical support for patients and families. Donate today and show them they are not alone. 💙
