Our annual “Boxing Day” service project Tuesday was fun as we decorated the inside flaps of boxes to be shipped to our military members overseas filled with goodies. These care packages bring joy to those far from home, and they get a surprise seeing our encouraging notes inside the boxes, written on the flaps. We purchase the boxes and craft supplies and coordinate with Airborne Angels who fill them up and ship them off. We also donate to Airborne Angels the funds needed for postage. .❤️

We had a full house Tuesday as we met to donate funds to the American Legion Post 53 and discuss future fun(d) raisers for our club before we got to working on decorating boxes to ship care packages to our military overseas.

We gave the American Legion Post 53 a $500 check on Tuesday to continue their work in the Dallas community - especially helping young families at Christmas. Commander Juan Guerrero and Vice Commander Tony Bauer accepted the check gratefully from our past president and current treasurer Elle. ❤️ USA

This is a long read but a very real problem in today's world. Document your accounts and how you access each account in a safe place, on paper, away from your computer. Make sure your phone unlock code is stored somewhere safe (especially if you use Face ID to unlock since we can't use your face when you're dead).
Set someone as your recovery contact on an Apple phone, set a Memorial contact on your Facebook account. Make sure your computer password is written somewhere safe. The world is a complicated digital landscape these days, make it easier for your loved ones to deal with your estate after you're gone.

Awesome fun BACK TO SCHOOL - themed meeting as we enjoyed dinner and discussed upcoming service events and fun(d) raisers. It was great to recognize our members who had perfect attendance in the 2024-25 year and also acknowledgment of members who had hit milestones with Altrusa for years of service. Notable: Betty hit 51! Years last year, Anne and Judy 35 years each with many more to come.

Altrusans! Ready to soar like an eagle (which did over my house this morning?) COME TUESDAY 8/4 to La Madeleine’s for our monthly dinner (6 pm) and meeting (6:30 to ?) to see what’s ahead: special speakers, service and fund raisers. It’s our “Back To School” themed Meeting and we are getting down to business tomorrow eve. Bring a friend!

Yesssss! A happy HAPPY hour (or two!) discussing possible Fun(d) raisers for our future club president Caroline. Great minds… big hearts… COOL AC and good food & wine makes for a great Tuesday evening. Shout Out to Postino’s in Addison and Manager Courtney for the fun night! Great having Anne with us in from Houston and two guests! 14 beautiful, smart ladies working together to make our community a better place to Live!

Sure the temperature gage read 109 in our cars tonight but it’s always cool 😎 when Altrusans get together! Shout Out to Postino’s in Addison which created a table for 12 for us (and 14 came!) at the last minute when our original happy hour site sold us out for a corporate event 🙄🤪
