Each year, our board gathers for a dedicated retreat where we map out the vision, events, and initiatives that will shape the year ahead. It’s where ideas turn into action—and where the foundation for everything we do begins.

Mermaid vibes, but make it networking 🧜‍♀️✨

Join IIDA Houston City Center for Mermaid Tails & Mocktails—a fun, interactive evening with Ileana Correa where you’ll learn to craft three signature mocktails (cocktails available upon request 😉) while connecting with fellow creatives in a relaxed, feel-good setting. Kick things off with arrivals from 4:30–5:00 PM, then dive into networking + our hands-on mixology session starting right at 5:00 PM through 8:00 PM. Hosted at Debner, this 21+ event is all about community, creativity, and a splash of fun and just good vibes 💜🍸

Big goals lead to big impact.

Through the IIDA Catalyst Grant, 18 chapters received support in 2025 to bring meaningful programs and initiatives to life in their communities. From advocacy and leadership development to student career opportunities and inclusive programming, chapters across the country used these grants to create real change for designers at every stage of their careers.

And like that... has come to an end.

We had a busy day touring projects, design firms, and showrooms. Students got to see the diversity of paths one can take in our industry.

Many thanks to all the underwriters! We could not pull this event off without you all. Students, thank you for making this year special. We hope to you again next year!

What an eventful day! We had a lot of fun here on Day 2 of .

Students caught a glimpse of the life of a professional. There was high energy at our learning and networking events, the finale being the Expo.

We'll see you all tomorrow on the Tours for the final day of Shift26!

We had a fabulous start with the Design Charrette. Our students created wonderful design solutions, which the winners will be announced at the Expo. The day ended with the Pep Rally to welcome the students to Shift26! See you all tomorrow!
