Last weekend, Ambassadors from 12 states, as well as Australia, Canada, Norway, and Switzerland, came together at Lake Tahoe for our 2026 Ambassador Retreat. It was a time for our Ambassadors to connect, recharge, and be refreshed together in their important work.

The program included devotionals, worship, and prayer, with plenty of time to explore the local area and enjoy the serene surroundings. We were especially blessed to have Kathy Baldock teach and share insights from her new book, "Forging a Sacred Weapon."

We are grateful to each of our Ambassadors for the invaluable work they do. Later this year, we will open applications for our 2027 Leadership Development Cohort, so if you’d like to become an Ambassador, keep your eyes peeled!

In Genesis 2:18, God says that he will make “a suitable helper” for Adam. The subsequent story of the creation of Eve focuses on the similarities between Adam and Eve—not on their differences—but non-affirming authors like Preston Sprinkle have argued that the Hebrew word translated as “suitable” in this text (“kenegdo”) requires s*x difference.

Although this is a technical argument, it is an important one—and it isn’t correct, as Matthew Vines explained in his recent debate with David Bennett. As Matthew noted, "neged" appears around 150 times in the Old Testament, but it never means “opposite” in the sense of different or dissimilar. At most, it means “opposite” in the sense of location: being physically opposite from someone.

You may have heard Preston Sprinkle’s argument before, as it’s been repeated many times by non-affirming Christians over the past decade. But it isn’t true. Nothing about the Hebrew word “kenegdo” requires s*x difference. For gay Christians, a same-s*x partner can absolutely be a “suitable helper.”
