Yesterday and this mornings adventures brought good weather. The scouts finished up some merit badges. The Owasippe Fair was a success. Morale and camaraderie are still high. By the scouts choice they knocked out some rank requirements. A shout out to Alex D for completing the outdoor night out for the wilderness survival MB. Parents be proud of your scouts.

Yesterdays adventure brought rain, but not as much as predicted. All tents stayed dried. We had a service project of replacing boards on 2 picnic tables. Shout out to Colton for leading the troop on that. The Owasippe Fair was rescheduled till today...good call. Another shout out goes to Nick, he is working on Lifesaving merit badge in the heated pool( not!!). The temperature in pool was 66 degrees. He completed that today. Over all moral is still very god.

Yesterday's adventure were more merit badge class, which are going good. At our fire last night each scout had to list a positive and a negative about their classes. There was more positive than negative. The leadership and fellowship coming from each scout is awesome. Parents be proud of your scout. Last nights adventures was tubing, and ATV trail ride. They are addicted to tubing. They said the water was warm, but the air was cold! The ATV scouts got to see some old abandon camps, and got to ride on a lot of trails.

Yesterday was the first day of class. No issues with anyone's class, they all seem to like the classes. We had some go tubing last night and they had a blast! So far the weather has heald out to be perfect! But rain is in the forecast.

First day of summer camp at Owasippe Scout Reservation camp Wolverine! Zaxie! Tents set up and scouts in good spirits!

Scouting gives you many opportunities to see different places, and meet many amazing people. Because of scouts and the Order of the Arrow we got a chance to see O'Hare airport where most public can not go. We got to go on the runway and be up close to planes landing. We saw the fire training section. We got to go onto a Dreamliner plane that was getting worked on. It was an amazing day. Scouting and the opportunities it brings are amazing. Go beyond the unit and explore, network, and meet amazing people from other places. As Dr. Seuss said, " Oh, the places you'll go."

Last weekend the troop camped at Turkey Run State Park. Six scouts, three adults, and two dogs completed the 5-mile challenge hike, we actually did 6 miles. It rained, thundered and there were a lot of mud puddles. We did not hear one scout complain. They went home muddy with wet gear, I think they will remember this trip.
