🌱 Big progress at Lakeside!
It took us a little while to get everything in the ground, but we’re excited to share… the garden is officially planted! 🍅🌿 Our OE Facilities team and staff have been hard at work prepping the space and setting it up for success—including installing our new tomato cages to support healthy growth all season long.
This year’s garden is full of variety, including:
🍅 3 types of tomatoes
🌿 Tomatillos
🥕 Beets & carrots
🫑 Yellow, red, and green bell peppers
🌶️ Jalapeños & red chili peppers
🍆 Eggplant
🎃 Spaghetti squash & zucchini
🌱 Bush beans & sugar snap peas
🌿 Celery & onions
A huge thank you to our friend, Dale Manuel, who has made this garden possible from its inception. From tilling to making sure we have live plants and top notch seeds, he is a wonderful supporter of this awesome project. Shoutout to OE Renewed Horizons Director Cassie Stanley and Facilities team members Jake Sowards and Jeff Blade for their hard work on prepping and planting our garden.
Year 2 is shaping up to be an amazing one—we can’t wait to watch everything grow!
