Big news for IYG! 📣

After an intensive, months-long search, we are proud to announce that our current Chief of Staff, Joseph Myers (he/him), has been appointed as IYG’s next Chief Executive Officer.

Joseph will begin working closely with current CEO Chris Paulsen (they/she) in the months ahead and will officially assume the role on November 16, 2026.

At IYG, our mission is to advocate for LGBTQ+ young people—especially those who are most marginalized.

Following recent public remarks about transgender girls and women, we have released a statement reaffirming our unwavering support for transgender and gender-diverse youth and calling for education, dialogue, and meaningful leadership.

We believe exclusion should never be our starting point. Education, compassion, and thoughtful conversation should be.

Over the past week, we have remained in communication with leadership from the Indiana Fever and Pacers Sports & Entertainment, offering educational opportunities for players, coaches, and staff centered on transgender inclusion in sports and the lived experiences of transgender young people. We remain hopeful these conversations will continue to move forward in a spirit of learning and understanding.

To every transgender and gender-diverse young person in Indiana: you belong. You deserve to participate. You deserve to be respected. You deserve to be treated with dignity.

Center Closure Notice

IYG NWI will be closed on Wednesday, July 29 to allow our staff time to travel to Indianapolis for an organization-wide retreat.

This time together allows our team from across the state to connect, collaborate, and continue strengthening the programs and services we provide to LGBTQ+ youth and young adults.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. We look forward to welcoming everyone back when regular center hours resume.
