WINGS Family Health & Violence Prevention: Shelter and support services so that adults and children can be safe, healthy, and lead violence-free lives. Services for Seniors: Nutritious meals and care management so that elders can live in their own homes with independence, dignity and quality of life. YW Emerging Leaders: Cultivating professionals early in their career, through the development and refinement of their skills, while working with social service providers as mentors. Healthy Communities: Transforming environments using a broad spectrum of approaches that create healthier communities including facilitating the Healthy San Gabriel Valley Initiative.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Guided Autobiography Class!📝

In collaboration with Independence at Home: A SCAN Community Service, our team was able to facilitate this 5-week guided course for seniors that guided our participants in writing.

Each of our sessions helped our clients learn how to reflect on their past experiences and connect with others through storytelling.🧡

As we continue to recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we are reminded of the urgent need for prevention and awareness for intimate partner violence (IPV) and domestic violence (DV).

Today, our community is mourning the loss of a 15 year old Arcadia youth due to intimate partner violence.

Tragedies like these underscore the growing need for early intervention, outreach, education, and prevention programs.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family during this difficult time.

During this our agency calls on our community and elected officials to continue supporting preventative programs, early intervention, and outreach programs that address the root cause and keep our youth safe!

YWCA-SGV will continue to raise awareness and support those affected by violence. If you or anyone you know is in need of our services, please reach out to our team or call our 24-Hour Hotline at (626) 967-0658.

A huge thank you to the West Covina Rotary Club for donating bags of candy and over 500 brand new costumes to our Domestic Violence Shelter.💜

With Halloween being right around the corner, donations like these help give a sense of normalcy to our shelter families.

If you or anybody you know would like to give back to this important initiative, our agency is always looking for ways to connect with our community and make a difference!

A Summer Recap from our Senior Services Program!🌟

Over the course of 16 weeks, our Elderly Nutrition Program hosted a Fall Prevention Class for seniors in partnership with Independence at Home: A SCAN Community Service.

Today, we’d like to share a few photos from our summer sessions and thank all of our senior clients who participated!

Our team was able to assist more than 20 seniors in learning exercises and techniques designed to support better health, strength, and fall prevention.✨

A special thank-you to our instructor, Krystal Perez, Health Educator from Independence at Home, for coming out and leading these sessions for our clients.❤️
