We’re proud of our Potter County 4-H Teen Council members, who spent yesterday in Harrisburg meeting with state representatives, gaining insight into state government, and building their civic leadership skills.

Members of Potter County’s 4-H stopped by my Capitol office while in Harrisburg yesterday to learn more about state government and our Commonwealth’s rich history. I am pictured with Spencer Gee, extension educator; Dana Williams, Oswayo Valley High School senior; Baylee Hazel, Northern Potter High School junior; and Thankful Batterson, 4-H leader. Join Penn State Extension for a FREE Safe Drinking Water Clinic to be held Tuesday, June 23rd, 1-2:30 PM at our office in the Gunzburger Building.

During this no-cost, ninety-minute workshop, participants will have the opportunity to test their home’s drinking water and gain practical insights into protecting their family and the shared groundwater resources beneath their feet.

Help us empower private well and spring owners with the knowledge and tools to protect their water source, their property, and their health. Learn about water treatment options and understand essential maintenance and inspection practices to ensure long-term water quality and system reliability.

Get ready to fire up your cooking skills with 4‑H Grill It Up Tuesdays—a sizzling summer experience that blends outdoor cooking, food safety, and nutrition with hands‑on fun!

This four‑week virtual series builds confidence in outdoor cooking, leading up to a special in‑person cookout finale later in the summer. This program is open to 4‑H youth ages 8–18 and will be held on July 7, 14, 21, and 28.

Participants will learn the foundations of outdoor cooking while keeping safety, nutrition, and creativity front and center. Each week, participants will prepare one recipe at home with adult supervision, using a variety of outdoor cooking methods.
