Another amazing week for CapeCodCAN ! The Marjorie Lynne Art Bus visited BUES where 4th and 5th graders who studied the Renaissance created “Totally Modern Mona” Art! A return trip to BWB for more Van Gogh inspired sunflowers. We spent Tuesday and Wednesday with Massachusetts DDS and Kennedy-Donovan Center in Plymouth and Centerville hosting Friendship Day events with over 200 adults. Our visual arts apprentices toured Woodruff’s Art Center and planted beautiful pollinator, veggie and perennial gardens in the schoolhouse backyard with master gardener, Rich Marciante, and Jackie Millar. The photo class celebrated their last class of the session with an exhibit in the Hyannis gallery space and dinner at Anejo. Life is good! Join us for more fun this summer!

A huge shout out to Madison and Brenna, recognized for their work at and caring relationships with the seniors of Plymouth’s Center for Active Living. Madison is a CapeCodCAN Visual Arts Apprentice and both Brenna and Madison serve on our Advisory Committee. They are creative, kind and so fun to be with. Congratulations!

Where has the Marjorie Lynne Art Bus been this week? We spent time with 3rd graders at Barnstable Community Innovation School creating zen doodle turtles in honor of Cookie their rescue turtle. We ended the week at Barnstable West Barnstable with our friend Sue Sullivan of where kindergarten students learned about butterflies and created their own Van Gogh inspired sunflowers. As one child said “it really is a magic school bus”!

It is National Pollinator Month and our first class of the summer supports our garden friends. Join us to create adorable flower shaped ceramic water cups for bees, butterflies, hummingbirds. Once fired they will be attached to stakes to be placed in gardens. We can't wait to make some for our newly planted CCCAN beds. Click on the link to register https://our.show/ap6tzntlpj
