Don't let ticks suck the fun out of nature!

Ticks are a reality throughout NY State and are especially prevalent in the early Spring as the weather warms up. We incorporate multiple tick checks into the daily routines of all of our programs.

Recently, the Forest Preschoolers played a game called "Sticky Ticky" to get them used to tweezers in case staff ever have to use them to remove a tick. Small pieces of sticky tape were placed on the kids clothing (the ticks) and they had to use plastic tweezers to remove them from their friends. They were super helpful in locating and removing the ticks from their friends and teachers. This activity will make future tick removals a little less scary!

Our Visitor Center will be closed to the public from Wednesday, April 8th to Friday, April 10th for maintenance.

Trail maps will be available at the kiosk outside the Visitor Center and our outdoor bathrooms will remain open.
