✅🔥✅ UPDATE - Friday 4/24/2026 - All trails closed for the Boggy Rx burn are now OPEN.

🔥Update-Monday 4/20🔥

Fire crews have completed burning operations on the Boggy Draw Prescribed Fire, located northeast of Dolores, CO. In addition to many other benefits, this work helps protects critical infrastructure such as transmission lines (pictured) from future wildfires by removing hazardous fuels with low-intensity fire.

Firefighters will continue patrolling lines and mopping up in the coming days. Area residents can expect smoke to decrease now that firing operations are complete. Localized residual smoke can be expected, however, as interior pockets of fuel continue smoldering and consuming.

An area closure will remain in effect until fire managers determine it is safe to allow public back into the area. Learn more about the prescribed fire and the area closure on InciWeb: https://inciweb.wildfire.gov/incident-information/cosjf-2026-san-juan-national-forest-prescribed-fire-program
