Cortez Community Gardens The garden also grows produce that it donates to The Good Samaritan Food Pantry. We offer a variety of demonstrations, workshops, and activities for all ages.

Common Ground Cortez Community Gardens offer organic gardening space to residents as well as a variety of demonstrations, workshops, and activities for all ages. Produce will be shared by volunteers while excess produce will be donated to The Good Samaritan Food Pantry. We are welcoming community members to join us on Volunteer Days, to sign up for upcoming news and events, and to offer help, idea

Thank you Grasshopper Collective! We harvested the garlic they donated last October for us to plant. It's the biggest harvest ever--126 bulbs. Not surprisingly, it's also the earliest by over two weeks. It will be dried and go to Good Sam’s Food Pantry soon

Busy morning working in the demonstration beds at the Rec Center Garden. We seeded more beans, beets,and cilantro; transplanted Tom Thumb lettuce, and harvested lettuce, dill, parsley, and soft-neck garlic. The garlic will dry for a week to 10 days before going to Good Sam’s Food Pantry. The rest went there immediately.

First lettuce harvest at the demonstration beds at the Rec Center Wednesday! Cindy harvested 8 fully formed Tom Thumb lettuce heads which she took to Good Sam's Food Pantry where she volunteers.
