The lettuce and radishes in the demonstration garden plot at the Rec Center have been loving the cool weather--just as long as we don't let them freeze. Even the second planting is coming in nicely.

We had a fantastic turnout Saturday for our 3rd Street Work Day! We were able to do all our weeding and put down fresh wood chips! Thank you all for your help today 👍

First lettuce harvest at the demonstration beds at the Rec Center Wednesday! Cindy harvested 8 fully formed Tom Thumb lettuce heads which she took to Good Sam's Food Pantry where she volunteers.

The Demonstration Bed crew built a two-level potato tower in the Rec Garden. Hopefully it will give us lots of potatoes we can donate to Good Sam's.

Our benches were evidencing some wear. Thanks to a donation from Candice Leighton, Rocky Wilson has been working on new seating for them and it looks like he has finished. They are comfy!

We're growing year-round at the Cortez Community Garden at the Rec Center. We harvested overwintered carrots and delivered more than 70 nice ones to Good Sam's Food Pantry for distribution to the community. Also a huge parsnip.

A few of us started work in the beds that are dedicated to growing for Good Sam’s Food Pantry on Saturday. We planted lettuce seedlings and radish seeds; and then protected them from cold, wind and birds with a snug low tunnel.
