The items are starting to arrive!!
For Pets' Sake is thrilled to be the recipient of a generous grant from LOR Foundation. The $4,170 grant provides funding to equip our dog foster homes with portable, secure kennel systems designed specifically for safe decompression and gradual introductions. Each setup will include enclosed kennel panels with secure latching doors, protective roof coverings, and insulated or heated dog houses to ensure safety and comfort in varying weather conditions. These systems will provide a humane, controlled environment where foster dogs can acclimate safely before direct interaction with other animals, especially in foster homes where people don't have the luxury of designated rooms that can be used to house and isolate new fosters.
The goals of this project are to reduce the risk of injury during intake, improve the success rate of foster placements, and lower stress levels for both foster dogs and resident animals. By providing a safe transition space, we also aim to increase foster volunteer confidence and retention, as safety concerns are a leading cause of foster burnout.
