Callie did even BETTER this morning! We added Betty to the mix and she did amazingly well. And then just about an hour ago I had her out on leash with everyone! She sniffed all the ones that would let her get close enough, wagged her tail, was very relaxed. I'm so proud of her!! I didn't get any video as I was really paying attention, and didn't want to take my eye off what was happening. But I can see her coming over to live in the house with everyone else very soon! That means I get to live in the house with everyone else! Yay!

We need foster homes! We take care of everything! All the vetting, all the food, any toys or treats you need. If you're not able, we will pick them up and take them to appointments. We get them moved to rescue partners as quickly as we can. We need steady, agreeable people that are willing to hold on to the dogs or puppies until we have somewhere safe for them to go. Sometimes it's two days, sometimes it's a month or more. More often than not, it's just a week or two. It's so fun and rewarding! It's like having new dogs and puppies in your house all the time without having to pay for their vetting or food. If you have another dog that loves the companionship of other dogs, this is the perfect way to provide that for them. We could save so many more dogs and puppies if we had places for them to go. We have adult dogs in need, we have adolescents, we have puppies. All needing someone to show them the love and stability that they need. Dogs like Axel (blocky, big-head, black bully breeds) usually have a harder time finding homes.

But luckily, some people seek out the overlooked dogs!

Axel may be a big guy at 110lbs (weighing more than some of our staff members), but he's also known for being kind and goofy, has a blast with his big dog buddies, and will make a great couch time companion at the end of a busy day.

Let's get 4-year-old Axel back into a home where he belongs ❤

Feed shelter pets for free while you search the web!

Another successful transport! SIX dogs in total, four adults and two adolescents, were welcomed by Humane Colorado in Denver. We're so grateful that in this climate where it's so hard to move dogs, and people aren't fostering and aren't adopting, but ARE breeding their animals like there isn't a crisis, that we were able to move these six pups out of this area, into an area with fewer adoptable dogs and a much larger population of potentially good adopters. Also thank you to everyone who supports the work we do, we couldn't get these guys in foster homes, feed them, couldn't get them vetted, couldn't move them out, without you.

Lorrie Lewis of Hair of the Dog Grooming squeezed her in last minute and did a beautiful job cutting out and brushing out all the mats this poor girl had on her back end and behind her ears. We're calling her Chloe. This is a before pic, she was even more beautiful after her groom. She is the sweetest little thing, super cuddly. We're not showing her face because she was involved in a cruelty investigation. I wish I could show y'all how cute she is. Thankfully, she's out of here on a transport to a rescue partner in the morning. We're very grateful that the person caring for her was willing to surrender her so we could get her to a better life.

Thought this might be useful for some folks. They have a list of places to get low cost vet care, places to help pay for vet bills, free food, training. I haven't looked at it all so I don't know if any of the stuff is in our area, but I'm sure a lot of it is just online and you can apply for it from anywhere. Hope it helps someone.
