On this Memorial Day, the Coronado Community Foundation joins our community in solemn appreciation for those who gave their lives in defense of our freedoms. We hold their legacy in the highest regard and remain humbled by their selflessness.

From the very beginning, the Coronado Community Foundation has believed in the power of partnership.

In March 2025, CCF launched the first Coronado Nonprofit Leaders Roundtable, bringing together Executive Directors, CEOs, and Board Presidents from local nonprofit organizations. Created to foster connection and collaboration, the Roundtable convenes quarterly to share knowledge, strengthen leadership, discuss community needs and resources, and support one another in serving Coronado.

As we celebrate one year of the Roundtable, we are proud of the relationships built, ideas shared, and growing spirit of collaboration among Coronado’s nonprofit community. Together, we are creating stronger connections and greater collective impact for the community we all serve.

CCF was proud to provide grant funding to Coronado Schools Foundation for the purchase of four new ceramic wheels for Coronado High School.

CEO Ashley DeGree shared, “As a direct result of this funding, our ceramics classes significantly expanded access and instructional quality during the school day. Over 240 students are currently enrolled in these six classes”

Photo: CCF Board and staff joined CSF staff and the CHS ceramics class to celebrate the 4 new ceramics wheels added to the program through an Arts & Culture grant from CCF to CSF.

In partnership with ElderHelp of San Diego, the Coronado Community Foundation, and the Coronado Senior Association, the Coronado Seniors A Go Go program provides free rides up to 30 miles one-way for residents age 60 and older.

CCF proudly supported the Events in the Tents at the 104th Coronado Flower Show this last weekend through the Fall '25 round of Art & Culture grants.

Running since 1922, the Coronado Flower Show has carried its educational purpose informally through division chairs, volunteer judges, and exhibitors who answer questions between ribbons. Events in the tents provide a proper home for that knowledge: scheduled, visible, and designed to bring new generations into the traditions that have kept the show alive for more than a century.

Events in the tents began as an idea that had been building within the organization for years. A grant from the Coronado Community Foundation (CCF), along with private donations from community supporters, is what moved it from concept to reality. The foundation’s mission to strengthen the community through investment aligns naturally with what the show has been quietly doing for over a century.
