At today’s meeting we were exceptionally proud to have our 2026 Scholarship Award winners and their families join us in acknowledgment of their achievement. The club members in attendance agreed this was the largest turnout in memory for this annual event.

All of the awardees from Corbin High School were present. Our two Lynn Camp High School awardees, Lauren Partin and Katie Ann Mills, were attending a Jobs For America’s Graduates National Conference. Each of the students introduced their family members present and told us about their college plans.

Congratulations and best wishes to this excellent group of graduates and their families! Special thanks to Rotarian Mallory Davis for serving as Chair of the Scholarship Committee and organizing today’s celebration.

At today’s meeting we were very pleased to welcome incoming Rotary District 6740 Governor Terry Pugh as guest speaker. Terry noted that his Rotary journey began in 2001 as a member of the Corbin Rotary Club. He spoke about ongoing initiatives of the District and the importance of the Rotary Foundation.

University of the Cumberlands President Dr. Quentin Young spoke to the Corbin Rotary Club on May 7 about the university’s growth, mission and continued focus on serving students in the region.

Baptist Health is a long-time supporter of the Empty Stocking Fund, our Club's biggest and oldest service program. They are hosting a Christmas in July Vendor Bazaar with all proceeds going to the Empty Stocking Fund. If you are a vendor, crafter or artist that would like to present your products at an event like this use the information in the attached flyer.

Big day for Corbin Rotary Club - Part II (makes Part I happen)

Our annual Dave Hudson Memorial Golf Scramble was held today at London Country Club. This event funds our scholarship program for Corbin High School and Lynn Camp High School seniors. We could not do this without the support of the golfers, sponsors and Rotarians who work the event. We cannot thank all of you enough. If you haven’t participated in this event please consider doing so next year.

We were honored to take part in Corbin High School Honors Day by awarding scholarships to some accomplished and deserving seniors. Thanks to Rotarians Mallory Davis and Kimberly Lovegrow for representing our club today.

At today’s meeting we were very pleased to have Dr. Quentin Young, President of The University of The Cumberlands as guest speaker. Dr. Young spoke about what is going on at UC and the opportunities they provide. We are very proud that a Past President of the Corbin Rotary Club has risen to such a prestigious position in our region.

At today’s meeting we were very pleased to welcome our newest member, Shannon Philpot-Mills with Mountain View Pace. We were also pleased to have Maddie Flannery with the Corbin Public Library. She gave a very impressive presentation of the services and programs offered by our local library.
