Compassion United

Compassion United We exist to empower and equip the homeless, poor & under-resourced in Montgomery County and beyond.

What started in 2006 as a simple, God-given vision to feed the homeless, Compassion United, has grown into the most comprehensive support ministry in all Montgomery County. Now, over a decade later, serving people is still at the heart of all we do yet with a more defined, dynamic purpose to provide outreach, relief and empowerment to those on fringes of society. OUTREACH - We have built a family

of programs that go into hurting areas to meet the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of our neighbors. RELIEF - Whether it be food, clothing, hygiene items or spiritual guidance, our programs bring relief to those in need introducing hope into their darkness. EMPOWERMENT - For those seeking change in their life, our transition homes provide an individualized roadmap to success through a holistic recovery model. With passionate leadership and vital community partnerships, Compassion United continues to press forward in incredible ways to transform communities by serving their forgotten, marginalized and hopeless. We’ve seen hundreds of people come out of homelessness and addiction to find a new life, and we believe this is just the beginning. With the support of generous partners, we know that we will continue to see hope restored and futures transformed.

Summer is HERE and we want to help our friends experiencing homelessness in the dangerous temperatures. Along with our reusable water bottle drive, we're raising $1,300 for a commercial ice maker for our support kitchen.

A simple gift can provide comfort, dignity, and practical support to people experiencing homelessness. Can you help?

Over the past 20 years, we’ve seen firsthand how creativity brings joy and healing to those we serve. Thanks to a generous grant from The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, we’re excited to offer Creative Pathways, a free program that opens the doors to art, music, and movement for our community members experiencing homelessness or financial hardship. Together, we’re building a space where everyone can express themselves and find connection.

A heartfelt thank you to Courtney Schuster for generously providing haircuts to our clients today. Small acts of kindness like this bring comfort, dignity, and confidence, especially in the summer heat. These haircuts help our clients feel their best for interviews and important appointments!

As temperatures climb, our clients are in urgent need of new underwear and backpacks to safely carry their belongings and meet basic needs with dignity.

Your support directly meets these needs- small items, real impact, immediate relief.

DOUBLE our current capacity.
In about a month, we will open the doors to our brand new on-campus transitional living homes and double the number of beds we currently have. We've been operating a transitional program for over 15 years with unprecedented results in sobriety and successful living, and we couldn't be more excited to expand the amount of individuals we can serve!
With this good growth, however, there is also an increased need for volunteers to help support this essential work. We are looking for people to come alongside our residents who are transitioning to independence after crisis and homelessness. Could you be part of someone's story?
If so, join us on June 9th for a Zoom Volunteer Meeting and hear how you can be an important part of transformed lives! Register HERE: https://CUvolunteerzoom.eventbrite.com
